Last updated: 2 October 2026 · Notice-and-takedown policy

Hectic Music, operated by Hectic Software Ltd, United Kingdom, respects intellectual-property rights and expects users to do the same. We operate a notice-and-takedown process that follows UK practice under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 and the hosting-provider rules, and is also consistent with the US DMCA (17 U.S.C. §512). Embedded content from other platforms stays with, and is controlled by, the source platform.

1. Sending a takedown notice

If you believe content on Hectic Music infringes your copyright, email copyright@hecticmusic.co.uk with the subject “Copyright Notice” including: (a) your name and a physical or electronic signature; (b) identification of the copyrighted work; (c) the URL of each allegedly infringing item; (d) your contact details; (e) a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the owner, its agent or the law; and (f) a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner.

2. Our response

When we receive a valid notice we will act expeditiously to remove or disable access to the material and make reasonable efforts to tell the uploader, including how to send a counter-notice. We keep a record of each notice.

3. Counter-notification

If your content was removed by mistake or through misidentification, email copyright@hecticmusic.co.uk with the subject “Counter Notice” including: your name and signature; identification of the removed material and where it appeared; a statement that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification; your contact details; and your agreement to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales (or, if you are in the US, the federal court for your district). We will send your counter-notice to the complainant and may restore the material unless they tell us they have started legal action.

4. Repeat infringers

We restrict or terminate the accounts of users who are repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.

5. Misuse

Knowingly sending a false notice or counter-notice may make you liable for damages. Only submit a notice if you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them.

6. Other concerns

For illegal content that is not a copyright issue, use Safety & Reporting. See also our Terms, Community Guidelines and Contact page.
